Some World Famous Scientists

The great people in the world, who have contributed their inventions to the world. They are always alive in the history pages of the world.

1. Michael Faraday
(The Inventor of Electromagnetic Induction)
Born on: September 22, 1791, Newington, London
Died on: August 25, 1867, Hampton Court

Faraday was a scientist noted for blending theory and experiment in his researches. He had little money to spend on apparatus and knew no mathematics. Many of his inventions were not put to use until decades after his death. Two electrical units are named after Faraday. One is the Faraday Unit used in measuring quantities of electricity, and the other is the Faraday Unit used in measuring the capacity of a capacitor.

2. Sir Issac Newton
(The Inventor of the Law of Gravitation)
Born on: December 25, 1642, Lincolnshire
Died on: March 20, 1727, London (England)

On the basis of the falling apple, Newton gave his famous 'Law of Universal Gravitation. According to his law, everybody in this universe attracts every other body with a force witch is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distant between them. Sir Issac Newton is called "The Father of Physics", and is considered as one of the greatest scientists of the world.

3. Leonardo da Vinci
(Who was called ten men-in-one)
Born on: April 15, 1452, Vinci (Italy)
Died on: May 2, 1519, Cloux (France)

Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, inventor, lute player, sculptor, military engineer, scientific observer, anatomist, architect, town planner and designer. He created many innovative designs of flying machines, both with flapping wings and rotating propellers. He gave detailed sketches of the human body. He constructed a water-clock, and suggested the use of ball-bearings. To aid the engineers of his day, he designed a crane for lifting heavy building blocks.

4. Galieli Galileo
(Who wonderstruck people from the Leaning Tower of Pisa)
Born on: February 15, 1564, Pisa (Italy)
Died on: January 08, 1642, Arcetri (Italy)

Galileo fabricated the first telescope. He has written in one his books that when the news of his telescope reached Venice, the king Sing Aroia called him. The whole court was surprised to this instrument. Many people went to the top of the Venice Church and saw the ships nearly 10 times nearer with the help of this instrument.

5. Charles Darwin
(Who laid the foundation of the modern theory of evolution)
Born on: February 12, 1809, Shropshire
Died on: April 19, 1882, Downe, Kent

After his death, he was buried in Westminster Abbey, not far from tomb of Sir Issac Newton. He married his cousin Emma Wedgowood, and in 1844, they moved to Downe House in Kent. He had 10 children of whom seven survived him. Four of his sons were eminent scientists, and three of them, like their father, became fellows of the Royal Society.
